‘The Three C’s Of Life’

I often look back – at the various choices I have made in life – and came across this quote – which caught my attention.

“The three C’s of life – choices – chances – and changes. You must make a choice – to take a chance – or your life will never change.”

And I find that so true – as there are times when I want to make changes – but of course in order to do so – I have to take that chance – and the decision to do so – is not always easy.

I am glad that I have been brave enough to make choices – and take chances – during my life – but – although it may all sound so easy – there are times when it’s been quite hard.

It’s not always been easy for others to understand my choices either. And I have had to come to terms with the fact – that some of those very dear to my heart – have sometimes disagreed.

One thing that has so blessed me though – is that in spite of not understanding – or even maybe disagreeing – with my choices – there are those who have stood with me through it all.

I find a truth in this quote – “The word ‘ – choice’ – is a fraud – while people choose only what they have been taught to choose”.

There have been times when – I have had to step away from the boundaries – and those things that I have simply been taught – and seek to – ‘think outside the box’ – in order to make a different choice.

Yet even as I thought about – ‘thinking outside the box’ – I recalled a quote that said – “Instead of thinking outside the box – get rid of the box”.

And I guess that’s what I have sought to do -as I have made different choices.

So often – making new choices – means stepping out of my comfort zone – and taking a leap of faith.

I heard it say that – “New opportunities rarely find you – in stagnant situations” – and if nothing else – I am a person who does like to be on the move.

I thrive on ‘the new’ – on exploring and trying new things – and this has extended into my thinking.

In looking at my choices – and quite often – taking a chance – that has meant change. Some of those changes have been big changes – while others have been relatively small.

But – at the end of the day – life is a constant opportunity to – choose – to chance – and to change – and that’s what for me – makes life worth living.
