‘The Morning Sun’

I never tire of seeing the early morning sunrise – it’s one of those things that is so easily missed – if no effort is made to capture it.

I have so many pictures of sunrises – many taken at home – and so many taken from the farm location we previously lived at – one of my favourite ones being when the mist hung low over the fields. I consider myself very fortunate – in that I can get to see these sunrises – but I never want to take any of them for granted.

As this quote says – “Nature is painting for us – day after day – pictures of infinite beauty – if only we have the eyes to see them”

One thing I have noticed is that they can appear – and disappear so quickly – I have to be aware – to be deliberate in my watching – my waiting. There are times when that effort has to be made – yet it’s never effort that is wasted.

There is something that seeing a sunrise does to my soul – as I – “Let every sunrise adorn my mind – with the power of hope – and I let it paint my life – with the colours of the morning sky” – I feel more ready for the coming day – whatever that might hold for me.

As I look back at the many photos of the sunrise that I have taken over the years – I am conscious that I have only captured a small number of them. There have been many more that I simply have not seen – some of course because the cloud has hidden them from my sight – but many more that I have simply not looked for.

This serves as a reminder – as I walk my life’s journey – that as someone said – “Opportunities are like sunrises – if you wait too long – you miss them” – I can miss that sunrise – I can also miss many opportunities that arise each day – I have to be on the lookout – to make that effort – to even be deliberate in seeking them out -the effort will be worth it I am sure – so I walk on – in expectation.

Blessings – Lois

  1. The time around sunrise always feels like a special time, especially in summer, when it is so early. Unfortunately I’m not a morning person, so I’ve missed a lot of them!
