I was struck by this quote that someone posted on social media this week – “The finish line is for the ego – the journey is for the soul” – and I realised just how true – and important – that phrase is.
For me – life is simply a continual journey – yes – I may have goals in life – I may move towards achieving certain things – but it’s important for me – not to get carried away with the end goal – but rather to focus – on the journey to that goal – not to “become so focused on the finish line – that I fail to enjoy the journey”

I try to go for a walk each day – and I set myself a goal – there is an end point that I aim for – yet – as I walk – I seek to make the journey count – to look around me – take in the sights and smells – feel the air – breath it in. It’s the journey that nourishes my soul – not the length of my walk – but all that is around me – as I walk,
I’m aiming for a goal this week – to seek out new connections – new opportunities – I want to enjoy this journey – this venture into new territory – I don’t want to simply rush into it – to treat it as a ‘check’ on my list of things to do – of things I want to accomplish.

This is a part of my onward journey – and I want to make it count – have value – want to explore – dig deep – hopefully enriching my life and the lives of others – as we journey together. Who knows where this might lead – but I’m in no hurry to get there -I simply want to take my time – give of myself to the whole new experience – meet others with an open mind – be willing to share my heart – recognise the value of each soul – and seek to bless others – as we journey together.
Blessings – Lois
We too often forget this, but it’s very true.
