How we enjoyed those sunny days over the past weekend – it was such a blessing – not only simply to enjoy – but allowing us to get into the garden and begin some clearing up.

Having only recently moved here – this was the first opportunity to get out there and really see what needed to be done.

It was very obvious that the garden had been neglected for a number of years – climbing roses had run wild – entangling themselves among other trees – and endangering the electric wires running around the house – what a job we had cutting them free – and being attacked by those sharp thorns.

There were small trees and bushes encroaching on the grass – leaving bare patches as we cleared them away – and revealing clumps of dainty spring flowers that they had previously hidden.

It was hard work – cutting – digging – uprooting – yet what a transformation when the job was done! Now we could see all sorts of possibilities – spaces made – to grow whatever we wanted – an almost blank canvas that we could work with – creating a space for – not only the plants to grow – but for us to grow too.

It represented that new season for us – a time when so much had been dug up – uprooted – in our lives – when we had to take the opportunity to replant – to see new possibilities – to grow – expand – and flourish in this new place.

Life is so often like that – there are times when we need to clear out – to make way for new things to grow in our lives.

As this quote says : “Some changes look negative on the surface – but you will soon realize that space is being created in your life for something new to emerge”
