‘Not For A Minute’

How I appreciate having the time and opportunity to walk alone in the quiet of the mornings. The inspiration for my blogs comes to me during those times – as do challenges and encouragement to my soul.

While walking along the other day I became aware of how many things I simply do not understand about God – about how He works – how prayer works – and I guess that’s why believing in and following Christ is called ‘faith’.

always 1Songs often come to mind as I walk and the words ‘not for a minute was I forsaken’ come from one that I love – called ‘Here Again’

Can’t go back to the beginning
Can’t control what tomorrow will bring
But I know here in the middle
Is the place where you promise to be

That is one thing I have found so true in my life — the one thing that I am very certain about – that not once have I walked my journey alone – He has always been there with me – never for a moment has He forgotten me – or forsaken me.

As the words from the song say –

‘ Not for a minute – was I forsaken – the Lord is in this place’ – through the tough times – both past and present – He always walks alongside – there to strengthen me and help me and just knowing  He is with me makes all the difference.

always 2When  Jesus was speaking to His disciples after He had risen and before He ascended to heaven – He told them – “Lo – I am with you always even to the end of the age”.     I  have always taken these words personally – and that is because – to a few of my close friends and family – over the years I have been affectionately referred to as ‘Lo’ – a shortened version of my name ‘Lois’ – so I claim this verse for myself! – spoken personally I like to think! – and it really is – and has been – so true – He has been and is – with me always.

Not for a minute – have I been – nor will ever be – forsaken.

“Lo” – thank you for this reminder, that as Jesus said, “Lo – I am with you always” He is also with each one of us to the end of the age (world, whatever… forever!) Not for a minute have we been -or will we be – forsaken. Amen. Touched my heart today!!!!!!!
