“Is this for real?” – these were the words uttered by one of our grandsons – when he woke up early one morning last week – to the news that his mum had died.
Although she had been ill we were all left reeling in shock and with that same feeling of ‘unreality.’
As I write I guess many people – not just in our country – but all over the world are asking that same question – “Is this for real” – as we are faced with the drastic changes in our lives – brought about by the coronavirus.
We have found during this past week that although we are surrounded – seemingly on all sides – with upheaval and even uncertainty about the future – one thing remains – or should I say – One person remains – Who is the same – steadfast and unmoving.
It reminds me of a song we sing – “It may look like I’m surrounded – but I’m surrounded by You”.
We are very conscious of the One in Whom we put our trust – the One we lean on – Who strengthens us – comforts us – walks with us every step of the way.
Our lives may have been shaken – and will be shaken in the future – but our faith remains strong.
We lean – not on our own understanding – but in all our ways we acknowledge Him – and trust Him to direct our paths.
The way before us as a family will feel dark and long – but we draw strength from the One we love and follow – and we do the same as we face this uncertain time in our world – we know we are not alone and my prayer is that you will know that too and draw strength from Him in your times of need.
Oh Lois, I am so very sorry for your loss! May the everlasting arms of God’s everlasting love hold and comfort you and your family at this time. My thoughts and prayers are with you. 🌟💜🙏💜🌟
