How could I possible write about anything else – for my blog this week – other than the fact that we are celebrating our 60th wedding anniversary – quite a milestone in our lives.

As I began to think about what I might write – I came across this quote – which made me think – “Life isn’t a matter of milestones – but of moments”.

And of course there is a truth in that – for life is made up of so much more than the – ‘milestones’ – or what I might interpret as – ‘special occasions’.

So many day to day ‘moments’ – that make up the richness of our lives.

So – it’s important for me to continue to embrace the whole of my journey – as it unfolds – while at the same time celebrating the milestones. It doesn’t have to be either one or the other,

I can – “Embrace the journey – and – Celebrate the milestones”

When celebrating such a milestone as ours this year – it does of course – cause us to reflect – to look back on the years that we have been privileged to spend together.

And as I do – I recognise that – we have experienced so much together – many ‘ups’ and ‘downs’ – wonderful times – difficult times – yet full of so many special memories.

As this – ‘Love Is’ cartoon expresses it – “Love is – sometimes a mess of emotions – but a wonderful mess”.

Our life’s journey has been made special – and rich – by so many people – who have been a part of our journey – and we will forever remember – and be thankful for each one.

So – much as our thoughts will be on celebrating reaching such a milestone – we will also continue to be very mindful of the ‘moments’ – that make our lives special everyday.

For family who share so much love with us – giving of themselves – and making us feel so proud.

For friends – who have shared their lives with us – but especially those who continue to walk with us today – accepting who we are – and embracing our journey with us.

We take hold of the sentiment expressed here – “Let us relish life as we live it – find joy in the journey – and share our love with family and friends” – celebrating this special milestone – as we continue to embrace our journey.
