A phrase I came across this week has stayed with me – “Mindfulness – is the practice of living life with intention – and presence”.
It was the phrase – ‘living life with intention’ – that caught my imagination – and caused me to pause – and wonder – just how intentional am I – as I face each day.
For me – this isn’t simply a case of deciding what I want to accomplish on that day – for many times – I deviate from my initial intentions in that area – depending how the day unfolds – and what I really feel like doing.

Sometimes – it means that those things I had originally intended on focusing on – are not as important as I thought – and I recognise that sometimes other things matter more.
“Living with intent – means saying no to the things that are not important – so we can say yes – to what matters most.”
And so – I chose – yet at the same time – I remain intentional about my day – for – as this quote puts it –

“Being intentional is not a destination – but a journey of self discovery – growth – and transformation”.
I like that thought – that it’s a journey – rather than a destination. That means that I can encounter twists and turns – come across things that demand my attention – and maybe cause me to change direction – and – that is okay.
It’s always a journey of discovery – learning to recognise what is important to me – and what those things are – that help me to become a better version of myself.

For the truth is – that living with intent – is more about the life I live – and the impact that my choices have – as quoted here –
“Intentional living – is about being mindful of your choices – and their impact on your life – and the world”.
For – while it’s important to have the courage to live as I truly want -and not settle for a life that others expect of me – I need to recognise that my actions do have that impact on others.

And so – I live with this thought –
“Each day is a chance to take control of your story – be intentional with your decisions – and value the blessings in your life”
