This week I was so blessed to have a long conversation with my brother in Australia.

It was wonderful to catch up – as it always is – and brought to the fore – the beauty of the bond that ties us together.
I came across this quote – which I felt summed up – some of how I feel – “As brother and sister – our paths may change as life goes along – but the bond between us – will remain forever” – and it’s so true – for although our lives have diverged so much – that strong bond is always there.

For most of us – family is a place where the strongest bonds exist – and I found this description of family – very interesting – ” Family – a circle of strength – with bonds that cannot be broken – the people you live for – laugh with – and love the most”.
It’s interesting to think about the various ways that we bond – even within the family circle. Sometimes it’s difficult to explain – but the truth is – that each bond is like a thread in my life – it may be woven in a different colour – some stitches may seem more prominent – but – woven together – they make the rich pattern of my life – and I am grateful.

I am so grateful too – for the bonds of friends – who over the years have made my life so much stronger and richer – and I love the way it’s put here – “Don’t underestimate the power of friendship – those bonds are tight stitches – that close up the holes you might otherwise fall through”.
I have experienced that so often – when I have felt held together – by the bonds of friendship.
It amazes me too – how these bonds – both in family – and friendship – occur. Some are a constant – always have been there – and always will be – while others have developed over time – or have even happened suddenly – out of the blue – as it were.

To quote – “Some bonds aren’t chosen – they’re gifted by the universe – they come into your life like the blessings you always prayed for”.
I never want to take any of the special bonds that I have – for granted – but cherish each one – for the blessings they bring to me – the strength they impart – and the richness they add to my life.
Blessings – Lois
