As I began the year – I shared a thought – that I said was both exciting and almost scary – that was to embark on a journey – to seek fresh and new connections and ideas.

As this quote says – “Every journey starts with the first step”

This week – I took those first steps – and it’s all very exciting!

I have managed to reconnect with three different people – none of whom I have been in touch with for over a year. I’ve already had coffee with two of them – and how wonderful it was to renew their acquaintance – to pick up our friendship – to begin to explore how we can help and support each other.

This quote from Pope Francis has real meaning – “If we wish to lead a dignified and fulfilling life – we have to reach out to others – and seek their good”

I want my life to be ‘dignified and fulfilling’ – and so I am beginning my journey – to seek out others – to share my life with them – to offer whatever I can – to encourage and to bless.

It’s not easy for me to take that first step sometimes – it takes me out of my ‘comfort zone’ – but – as someone once said – “It’s only after you’ve stepped out of your comfort zone – that you begin to change – grow and transform” – and I love it- that there is still the opportunity for me – to change – grow – and transform

I’ve already committed to going along to two new groups – with a neighbour I’m getting to know in our village – and this is a really big step for me – but a step that I hope will lead to new connections – allowing me to explore new ideas with others – and bringing enrichment into all our lives.

And so – I take one step at a time – praying that I may be a blessing to others as I journey forwards.
