‘Lest We Forget’

As preparations for Christmas are well underway – and we all begin to feel great anticipation – especially of spending time with family and friends – I have found these words echoing around in my mind – “Lest we forget”

I know these are words used each year to remind us of the many thousands who gave their lives in the two world wars – yet – somehow – for me this Christmastime – they take on a rather different meaning.

A reminder for me – to remember Christ – Who came that first Christmas – Who came with one purpose in mind – and that was to give His life – so that I might live.

This quote is also an important one – “Every Christmas – remember – God keeps His promises – He gave us His Son – because He promised He would”

This time of year evokes so many memories – happy ones of past times – difficult ones of missed faces – and – it’s so important that we remember- He does keep His promises – for He not only gave His Son that first Christmas – but has sent His Spirit – to walk with us every day.

So – as we enjoy all that He has given to us – the love He always has for us – may we remember – “The reason for the season – is Christ – let us not forget that “ – and maybe remind each other – ‘LEST WE FORGET’

A very blessed and happy Christmas to you all – Lois
