It was a cold and blustery morning – walking to the bus stop was quite exhilarating – standing waiting for the bus was less so – the cold blowing in my face – and biting at my fingers and toes – but – none of it mattered – I was on my way to meet a dear friend – and the anticipation warmed my heart.

As this quote says – “True friendship is like a warm blanket – on a cold winter day”

There’s something about meeting up with a good friend – especially when time has passed since you last met. While it’s possible to keep up to date on social media – that can never take the place of meeting face to face.

I guess one thing we have all learnt over the past months – is the value of that physical contact – that hug – that smile – that face to face conversation. Time slipping away unnoticed – forgotten – in the joy of sharing our lives – our ups and downs – our hopes and dreams – our aspirations.

It’s so good to have friends who are there for you – who are truly interested in what is happening in your life – and who are also willing to share what is happening in their life too.

As this quote says – “Warmth – kindness – and friendship -are the most yearned for commodities in the world – the person who can provide them will never be lonely”

I want to be that kind of person – who extends the warmth of friendship to others – just as my friends extend that warmth to me – Blessings Lois
