I find it interesting that as I sit and allow the quiet to fill me – images and truths flash across my mind. To breathe in these truths – to allow them to drop deep into my spirit – gives me a sense of joy and peace – of strength and hope – makes my heart sing and my soul soar.
As I sit this morning the words of a song come to mind – I’ve left a few of the words out – as the words that came to me were ‘I’ll be watching you’
Every move you make
Every step you take
I’ll be watching you
Every word you say

Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heaven and home,
When Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
I sing because I’m happy,
I sing because I’m free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.
My head and heart seem to be full of songs this morning!
I remember a lady we knew many years ago and we always used to say that ‘she had a song for every occasion’ – whatever was happening – whatever comment was made round the dinner table – she would burst into song! – and it was always very appropriate too.
My husband loves to sing and always has done from being very young – this is a song he has always loved to sing
Tenderly He watches over you,
Every step, every mile of the way;
Like a mother watching over her baby,
He is near you every hour of the day.
When you’re weak, when you’re strong,
When your right, when you’re wrong,
In your joy and your pain, When you lose and when you gain:
tenderly he watches over you,
every step, every mile of the way
Long before time began you were part of His plan;
Let no fear cloud your brow, He will not forsake you now:
Tenderly He watches over you Every step every mile of the way
What a fantastic thought – He watches over me.
As we watch over those we love – yet – in a far deeper and greater way – He watches.
He watches – not to criticise or punish – not to ‘catch me out’ – but because He loves me – He delights in me – He loves watching me!
