I’ve been planting my Spring bulbs this week – and as I covered them over with the compost – I smiled to myself – at the thought of what was to come – hidden .- and unseen – yet with the promise of beautiful blooms..
Of course – I have to be patient – something that I confess doesn’t always come naturally to me.I cannot rush the process – growth takes time – but I have to say – it’s always worth the wait.

Pondering on this thought causes me to recognise that I have come up against this challenge time and time again – always wanting to rush things – impatient for things to happen immediately.
Life has a wonderful way of teaching me many important lessons. I came across this thought – “The most beautiful things in life take time – don’t rush your growth”.
Because of course – this applies to me personally. I need to realise that often – beneath the surface – there are things happening in my life – that I do not understand – or am even not aware of – and I need to allow time for life to take its course.
Applying this principle – of hidden beauty needing the time to reveal itself – led me to a quote by Nikki Rowe –
“There is a silent beauty hidden amongst pain – if you sit in it – you may never find it – if you grow through it – you’ll find the treasure”.

I loved that thought. Just as the beauty of the flowers I have planted grows through the compost to reveal itself – so I need to grow through those difficult and dark times in my life – in order to see beauty blossom again.
Looking back at some of those dark times – days when even small struggles I have encountered have seemed to overwhelm me – reminds me of how I would walk in the countryside – often with tears falling – and discover the healing power of nature.
It’s so like those bulbs – even in the winter months – nature is working away – pushing up shoots of hope through the darkness. So – in my dark times – hope rises within me – and beauty begins to blossom again.
What I see as beautiful happening in my life – may not seem the same to others – but – what is important to me – is that I follow my own path – and learn to find the beauty – often hidden within.
.That – for me – suggests that I am responsible for finding the hidden beauty in my life. Do I simply wait for beauty to reveal itself – or do I have a part to play in discovering it?

As a familiar saying goes – “Everything has its beauty – but not everyone sees it”
For me – much as I wait – and look – forthe beauty to arise from my pots of bulbs – so I wait and look for beauty to arise in my life – even out of the darkest times.
