I had been so excited this year – when the courgettes – that I had grown from seed – seemed to be doing so well.

However – you can probably imagine my disappointment – when as the first courgettes began to grow – it became obvious that all was not well.

I realised that the same problem had arisen – as last year – and so I needed to try to find out what I was doing wrong – and see if I could correct it.

A phrase kept coming to mind – “If at first you don’t succeed – try – try again”

And – I am never one to give in easily – and so I have transferred my plants to much larger pots – (following some advice I was given) – and am hoping they survive (they’re looking good so far!) – and that I may have better success.

I am following this advice –

“Try – try again – Try once more – try differently – Try again tomorrow – Try and ask for help – Try – find someone who’s done it – Try to fix the problem – Keep trying until you succeed”.

I am grateful that there is so much knowledge out there – that I can tap into – allowing me to try different ways – and find out what works for me.

I recognise too – that everyone started at the beginning – before they became more expert in anything – and – it’s important for me to remind myself of that – as someone put it – “Allow yourself – to be a beginner – no one starts off being excellent”.

I have found throughout my life – that there have been many times when something hasn’t worked out as I had hoped.

It’s at those times – when I have to decide if this is something that I really do want to succeed at – because of course – there have been those times when – for me – it’s not felt worth striving for.

I guess the big difference is – whether my heart is in it – and to ask myself – if this is important to me.

“Giving up on something – is not always wrong – because – not everything is worth fighting for” – and I have learnt to accept that.

But – everything within me always wants to keep trying – and not give in – and so most times – I will at least continue to try – until I am convinced otherwise.

I like this quote – “Never give up – when you are able to try again – It never ends – until you stop trying”.

Most things are worth trying more than once – and I find it so worth the effort – when I succeed – or at least improve – because – I tried – and tried again.
