‘Walking the Walk’

walk 1It’s easy to ‘talk the talk’ – yet so important that we ‘walk the walk’.

Most of us who have a faith can ‘talk the talk’ – quote verses from scripture – sing the songs – and definitely believe what we are saying.

I’m not just talking about what we say to other people – but what we say about-  and to ourselves – about our own faith and beliefs.

walk 3I can – and do trust God – have known His love – goodness – protection – His comfort and the knowledge that He is always there with me and for me. There are times though when I need to actually ‘walk’ in the truth of what I believe – even when times are hard and difficult.

For us as a family we are leaning heavily on our faith and trust in God – even though we cannot understand – and feel as though we cannot see. Yet we have to do more than read the words that so encourage us – or sing the songs that remind us of Who God is – we need to ‘walk’ daily our trust in Him – lean on Him – use the grace – peace and strength He gives us to live in such a way that will bring honour to Him – for Who He is to us – and not simply for what He does for us.walk 2

My prayer is -that we will all be strengthened in our faith and live it out in whatever circumstances we might find yourself in – so that together we will show to those around us that our faith is real  – and can be seen – as well as heard.

I really enjoy your blog post about walking faith. I feel that though I was baptised and raised a Christian, it hasn’t been until last year that I really came into my Faith. Your words as always so very inspiring to me.
    Blessings to you Kylie xox

Lois, your post reminds me of this scripture: “Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.”- 1 John 3:18
