As you will know – if you follow my blog posts at all – I have been busy – over the recent months – sowing seeds – re-potting the young plants – and finally – planting them out.
I have had to dodge the weather – but am so happy that I have managed to get them all planted in the garden and greenhouse.

I guess because I am so interested in the whole process – this quote that I came across – stood out to me – “Your mind is a garden – your thoughts are the seeds – you can grow flowers – or you can grow weeds”.

I love the underlying truth that it conveys – drawing the analogy of sowing seeds in our minds – and recognising the importance of taking care – which kind of seeds we sow – and even – “being careful which seeds we allow to take root – “Be careful with what seeds you allow to take root in the garden of your heart – not all seeds bear good fruit”.
As I have watched the seeds – that I had sown germinate – there have been some that I have uprooted – as I recognised that not all were producing the plants that I had in mind.

Following the analogy of a garden – to my mind – is a great way to look at things – and a reminder to me – to take care of the seeds that I plant there – following this advise – “Think of your mind – your emotions – and your spirit – as the ultimate garden. The way to ensure a bountiful – nourishing harvest – is to plant seeds like – love – warmth – and appreciation – instead of seeds like – disappointment – anger – and fear”. It’s important to me to take note – to pause at times – and to take care of which seeds I sow – concentrating on the positive – the beautiful – and making sure that I avoid ‘the weeds’ – that would germinate only negative and destructive ‘plants’ in my life.
I’m excited to see the harvest – from the seeds that I have planted – I watch over them – water them – and watch their growth – but mostly I guess – I wait – needing patience as I wait for the results.

It would be silly of me to keep digging them up – to check their growth -to see how the roots were developing – an interesting thought that I found here – “You wouldn’t plant a seed and then dig it up every few minutes – to see if it has grown – so why do you keep questioning yourself – your hard work – and your decisions – have patience – stop overthinking – and keep watering your seeds”
I guess that’s what I easily do in my life – wanting to check decisions I have made – over thinking my actions – instead of concentrating simply on the seeds that I plant – and trusting in their growth.

As I wait and watch the plants in my garden and greenhouse grow – I look forward to seeing the ‘story’ – they will tell – of how they grew from those tiny seeds – and have flourished into something so many of us will enjoy.
As – “In every garden there’s a story waiting to be written – one plant at a time” – so I like to think that – in my life – the seeds that I sow – will write a story – one plant at a time – and in so doing – will bring joy and pleasure to the lives of others.
Blessings – Lois

That’s a great analogy Lois, it does make me think about how I ‘plant’ and nourish those seeds in my head.
