I am so blessed most weeks – to enjoy having flowers in the house. This week – I had glorious vases of daffodils – and so – no surprise I guess – my thoughts immediately turned to Spring.

The weather was dark – grey and wet – and yet there was a real sense of anticipation – that thrill of waiting – and the joy of imagining the future possibilities in the garden.
As this quote aptly puts it – “Winter can be a long season – but thankfully our memories of other seasons remain with us throughout the winter months”.
And so – I began to think about the seeds I would buy – realising that in fact – it won’t be long at all – before I will need to begin to sow them.
I thought of what I might grow this year – remembering from the previous years – which vegetables and flowers had grown well – and also – where they thrived the best.

Imagine my surprise – when – as I began to put my thoughts together – we had a beautiful – unexpected day – of blue skies and sunshine.
Not only was this such a blessing – but also – almost a reminder – if I needed one – that –“Even in the stillness of the longest night – light is gathering – preparing to return” – Spring is indeed on it’s way.
As I walked on that glorious day – my spirits lifted – and my soul soared – reminding me of how much I am a part of this wonderful creation around me.

I was reminded too – of the importance – to look for those moments – that make me feel joy – those moments – here referred to as – ‘glimmers’ –
“Today – I learned about a term called a ‘glimmer’ – which is the opposite of a trigger. Glimmers are those moments in your day – that make you feel joy – happiness – peace – or gratitude. Once you train your brain to be on the lookout for glimmers – those tiny moments will appear more and more”
And so – even as I seek to live – ‘day by day’ – and – ‘in the moment’ – I also live with anticipation – looking out for those – ‘glimmers’ – that bring joy to my heart – peace to my soul – and fill me with gratitude.
Blessings – Lois
