Our kitchen gives us a dual aspect – and – as I sat there the other day – I was struck by the difference – in the view that I could see out of each window. Well – it was not really just the view I guess – but more – the weather – and the way it made the day seem.
From one side – it appeared to be a very pleasant and mild day – however – from the other side – all I was aware of was the falling rain.
Of course – both were true – it was quite mild – and not too unpleasant – but – it was very wet at the same time.

This got me thinking about how my view of things can be so different – depending which ‘window’ I am looking out of.
This quote puts it in this way – talking about perspective – “What you see depends not only on what you look at – but also on where you look from”.
I found that thought worth thinking about. I’ve always recognised that everyone sees things in a different way – but guess I’ve never given much thought to the idea that it’s not simply what I am seeing – but – where I am seeing it from.

Looking back over the past years – I can see that my perspective has changed in a few areas of my life – and I recognise that it’s because I have begun to view things – from a different angle.
To quote – “Where you stand determines what you see – and what you do not see – it determines also – the angle you see it from – a change in where you stand – changes everything.”
There were a lot of things that happened in my life – big changes – that required me to stop – and reassess my life – to stand back as it were – to change my position – and view things from a different perspective.

And – as I did so – my experiences changed – I changed – for – to quote – “Changing your perspective – changes your experience”.
I am so glad – that I had the opportunity – to view things differently – to widen my experience – simply by changing my own position.
And – I guess it has taught me the importance of not simply standing still – but being willing – and confident enough – to change my view point – to – “Turn things around sometimes – and look at life from a different perspective”.
