Over the past weeks – one of the special moments in my day – has become time just sitting in the quiet of the morning – hearing only the sweet song of the birds.
We have been so blessed so far this summer – to experience so many dry and sunny days – beginning with that early morning sunrise.
I have learnt to enjoy those moments – to “close my eyes – take a deep breath – and enjoy the moment”.
Those moments have become so precious to me.
Not able to walk out in the countryside due to mobility issues – I have found that simply spending small moments of time being still has benefitted me so much.
As many know – walking has always been such a time of inspiration to me – but I am learning to find other things that speak to my soul.

Those early morning moments do just that – and although they may get interrupted from time to time – they remain very precious – and I value them so much.
There have of course been many special moments in my life – moments that I will always treasure – but the present ones – are the ones that enrich my soul.
Someone once said – “Savor the small moments – the big ones may stick in your head – but those small quiet everyday moments – are more important – than any one big moment”.

To anyone else – these moments may appear insignificant – especially when compared to what may seem – ‘bigger moments’ – but for me – they have great significance – and – “Breathing in – I calm my body -Breathing out – I smile – Dwelling in the present moment – I know – this is a wonderful moment”.
Those moments set me up for the day – remind me what is important in my life – enable me to appreciate – and value – the life that I can enjoy.
When I sit – and simply breathe in the moment – I am made aware of the importance – of taking care of myself – of recognising what my soul and body need.

I love this quote – “Deep breaths – are like little love notes to yourself” – and they remind me – to take the time – to breath in the moment – and in so doing – allow me to be present for others.
For – as I take the time – savor those moments – and care for myself – I find that I have more to give – not only is my life richer – but hopefully – I can enrich the lives of others too.
Blessings – Lois
