‘Questions’

I love the ease with which I can find answers to so many questions – and in fact – do find myself wanting an answer to something – almost everyday.

During my growing up years – in order to find answers to help with my schoolwork etc – I would have to refer to the set of encyclopedia that we had at home.

How much easier today – for by simply going on the internet – I can find answers to almost anything – as someone put it – “If you google anything hard enough – you can find anything”

As I have been busy with my seedlings – and getting my small plants ready for the greenhouse – and then the garden – I am constantly checking – about the appropriate size of pots – and the right time in the season to move them from place to place.

But – it’s not just about my gardening – I am always curious – and willing to learn.

Often – as we sit around the dinner table – something will be said that prompts a question – maybe an old ‘saying’ will be used – and we wonder where it first originated – so – we check – enabling us to gain knowledge – in a fun sort of way. Or we increase our knowledge on the wider world – delving into different cultures – conversations that often prompt even more questions – and find that by doing so – “we learn the most – from the questions we ask”.

Constantly learning – and asking questions – keeps me alive – and gives me the assurance – that my life is far from over – and so I want to heed the advice given here – “Never stop asking questions – never stop learning – and encourage that curiosity in everyone you meet – staying curious and open to learning – is a key to growth”

Over recent years – I have also found myself asking questions about many aspects of my life too – becoming more interested – and curious – about the things that have shaped my life – and being willing to change.

As this quote puts it – “Staying curious and open – is what make growth possible – and it requires practice to maintain that mindset. To keep learning – we have to avoid the temptation to slide into narrow safe views of what we do”.

And so – I determine – never to stop asking questions – be they large or small – as they enable me – to continue to learn – and grow.

Blessings – Lois

  1. I’m a strong believer in the power of curiosity. I remember the days of going to reference books in the library for answers, and it’s so much quicker now that there’s no excuse for not being curious 🙂
