During the past weeks – I have enjoyed a few days – of being able to walk in the sunshine – with blue skies overhead . It’s been a very unexpected pleasure at this time of year – feeling like – as my friend put it – ‘stolen moments’ – from the summer past.
It really makes up for those other days – when clouds cover the sky – and all seems grey – and it warms my heart – and fills my soul.
I love this quote – “When summer greets Autumn – they two – for a while – conspire in whispers – then part with a smile”. It’s almost as though – they are agreeing to save some surprises for us – or at least – that’s what came to mind when I read it.

Someone else put it this way – “Summer and Fall – waltzed to the wind – in a stolen sweet romance” – and – it’s almost as though I can feel that in the wind – as I walk. I love it – that merging of the seasons – allowing me to feel a part of them both
The sunshine really does affect the way that I feel – “I can feel the sunshine stealing into my soul – and making it all summer – and every thorn – a rose” – and I relish each one of those – ‘stolen days’.
Life can contain many ‘stolen moments’ – for they are those special times – that we come upon unexpectantly – that creep up on us – when we are not looking – and for me – that’s what makes them so special.
Life goes by at a fast pace – no sooner have we entered into a new month – or a new season in our lives – when – we seem to be moving on to the next one.

That’s why I cherish the – ‘stolen moments’ – and why I feel it’s so important to hold them close – and allow them to filter slowly through my soul – the way this quote puts it – “Heaven showed up – in small – stolen moments – and he had learnt to recognise them for what they were – to pause – to hold them close – and breathe them in – as they filtered slowly through his soul – and for those tender slips of precious time – the broken world was only perfect”.

Those moments can be so important – they are moments to treasure – ‘golden moments’ – that may only last a short while – but stay with me forever – even in the dark times – for – “There are always golden moments – that the darkness cannot steal”.
So – as I have captured those – ‘stolen days of summer’ – in these Autumn months – I determine to capture more ‘stolen moments’ – in the ‘Autumn of my life’ – treasuring them and holding them close to my heart – for they are mine forever.
Blessings – Lois

It was interesting to see all the symbolism in the ceremony. Being vulnerable is difficult – we do that all the time as writers if our work comes from the soul.
