There have been a few times this past week – when I have found it difficult not to get frustrated – when I am struggling with the limitations of my body. It’s often hard to ignore both the difficulty of what I am trying to do – and the pain that the effort brings with it.

One particular time – I became very conscious of the need to focus my attention elsewhere – and not to dwell on how I was feeling. This quote puts it well for me – “Don’t focus on the pain – focus on the progress” – that was so important at the time – and something that I am constantly trying to abide by.
Changing the way that I look at things certainly makes a big difference.

As someone here said – “If you change the way you look at things – the things you look at change”.
That does not mean of course that I can change the hard things in my life – but somehow – the way I perceive them changes – and they do not end up ruling my attitude – or even causing me to give in.
I do always try to have a positive attitude in life – and it’s actually quite surprising – to find that there is always a different way to see things – if only I will take the time to look.

But – “Positive thinking is not about denying the negative – but rather about choosing to focus on the positive – and finding ways to move forward – despite the obstacles“.
I’m trying to look at it as a sort of challenge – seeking to remain positive – and at the same time finding ways to work around the obstacles that cross my path.

And so – as I continue my journey – with all the ups and downs of life – I am deciding to follow this advice – “When you focus on the rainbow – you don’t mind the rain” – reminding myself that – there wouldn’t even be a rainbow – if it wasn’t for that rain.
Blessings – Lois
