I was so happy the other day – the sun was shining – the air was fresh – and my soul was singing.

I was enjoying a slightly longer walk than usual – taking in the morning air – and relishing simply breathing it all in – making me glad to be alive – and able to appreciate the nature around me.
So many times I have experienced the truth in this statement – “Take a breath of fresh air each day – and embrace life – because it’s worth living – no matter the situation you’re in”. Even during some of the darker days – the difficult times – a walk in the fresh air – with space to breath – somehow puts things into perspective – and does show me how precious life is.

As I breathed in the fresh air on my walk – a line of a song – from years ago – came to mind – the words go like this – “This is the air I breathe – Your holy presence – living in me”.
And that is something that I am always made more aware of – so often as I walk – that closeness of God – for – as this quote puts it – “we rarely think of the air we breathe – yet it is in us and around us all the time – in a similar fashion – the presence of God penetrates us – is all around us – is always embracing us”.
Of course – I am not always so aware – of the air that I breath – nor do I always sense God around me.

Mostly – I do find that I need to still my mind – deliberately focus – be intentional – and recognise the breath of God – speaking to my soul – for as Ludwig van Beethoven said – “The vibrations in the air – are the breath of God – speaking to man’s soul”.
I find that so true – rarely does God feel closer – than when I am breathing the very air that He gives us.

For – ” God is in the air that we breath – and the life within us – each of us is touched by the Divine breath”.
I have found too – that as I have become more aware of the value of meditation – the same ‘principle’ is at work – as I focus on my breath – I sense the Divine breath – feel Him – ‘in the air that I breath’ – and connect to His spirit within me – and it leaves me feeling so humbled – and blessed.
