I so love keeping in touch with family and friends – and appreciate the technology that we have today – which enables me to stay connected.

Each morning as I walk – I share my day with a very dear friend – and one of the highlights of my day is hearing her voice – and as I catch up with all she has been doing – I feel a part of it.

In a similar way – while one of our sons is away – we connect daily – enabling us to still feel a part of each others lives.

However – nothing can really replace – actually being in the company of someone else – and this week I was so blessed to receive an invitation – requesting ‘the pleasure of my company’.

I love that phrase – and while I know it’s so often used in a quite formal way – usually on invitations to special events – for me it conveys a warmth – and an acknowledgement – that my company is considered a pleasure – at least – that is how I choose to interpret it!

“Friendship is born – when people enjoy each others company – and share their joy”

There really is nothing quite as special – as spending actual time with the people that you love – and those that are very special to you – and so I look forward to spending that time with my friend.

For me – simply a short time being with someone – can mean such a lot – that shared cup of coffee – can bring me so much pleasure – or as this quote says – “a good coffee date with a good friend – fills my cup in more ways than one”.

Special moments are so precious – I want to hold onto each one – value even the shortest time spent with those I love – treasure them – and always be grateful for the opportunity to share life in meaningful ways.

And so – while I will always remain grateful for the technology – that enables me to stay in touch with so many people – I find it so much more fulfilling – and agree with this quote – “How beautiful it is – to find someone who asks for nothing – but your company“
