Only a couple of weeks have gone by – since I wrote about a ‘risk’ that some dear friends of mine were taking. They had bought a house – without even seeing it – and were about to get the keys.

Well – I have been following their progress with great delight – and am overjoyed that – ‘their plans have come together’ – or – I could say – as a character from a TV series many years ago used to say – “I love it when a plan comes together”

They are absolutely in love with their new surroundings – and are turning the house into a wonderful new home.

Okay – so – not without plenty of work – both inside and outside the property – but their plans continue to move forward at a rapid pace – already providing them with much joy – as they settle into this new stage in their lives.

However – as we all know – “Sometimes – things don’t go as planned – it’s called life”. Things happen – no matter how much – or how carefully we plan – but one thing I have learnt – is that I mustn’t allow that uncertainty to stop me from dreaming – and planning.

This quote puts it well I think – “In life – many things don’t go according to plan – if you fall – get back up – if you stumble – regain your balance – never give up”.

For me – that is what is so important – and I guess – in a sense – is how I would describe my ‘faith’ – which is – not so much in praying that my plans will succeed – or that I will be protected from life’s disappointments – but rather – that I will be given the strength to get back up when I fall – and the ability to regain my balance – when I stumble – while knowing that I am never alone – there is one who walks with me all the way.

“Faith does not mean trusting God to stop the storm – but trusting him to strengthen us as we walk through the storm”

And so – I continue to be inspired – to dream dreams – to make plans – being willing to risk things not working out – rather than not trying at all – in case they fail.

As I look back on my life – there have been storms to weather – plans that have failed – but also many times – when I could say – “I love it when a plan comes together” – I have truly been blessed – may you be blessed too – Lois
